MarTech and SalesTech: Opportunities, Challenges and Impacts
November 22, 2022
Key insights at lunchtime
Bernd Skiera, Professor of Electronic Commerce at the University of Frankfurt, is guest editor of the NIM Marketing Intelligence Review "MarTech and SalesTech". At the NIM Insights Lunch, he summarized key insights from the issue (presentation in German).
Modern marketing increasingly relies on new technologies. People's consumption and work habits have changed significantly, and at the same time, the number of marketing technology tools ("MarTech") and sales technology tools ("SalesTech") available has exploded. These new applications are enabling automated marketing and sales processes in organizations that are scalable and create additional sales opportunities. However, there are also challenges to overcome, such as technology skepticism on the consumer side or new data privacy laws that limit the use of data for marketing.
Topics of the NIM Insights Lunch were:
- How can companies prepare for the use of such technologies?
- What are the implications of data privacy laws?
- Do technologies promote effective collaboration between employees and their supplier network – in the office, from home, or even in the metaverse?
- How should companies assemble teams in these hybrid worlds?
- Can AI and robots support human team members?
- Should companies address consumers' fears of being exploited and misunderstood by technology?
Notice: Interested parties who are not yet members of the NIM can attend an NIM Insights Lunch twice for free and then decide if they would like to become members. If you have any questions about membership, please feel free to email us at hello@nim.org.
