Gaining marketing-relevant knowledge from social media photos - A picture is worth a thousand words
Abstract:
A vast number of photos are uploaded to social media platforms reflecting peoples’ lives and brand experiences. However, existing tools focus on text only and neglect this visual medium of knowledge.
In this paper, we will outline the significance of social media photos, present a system for recognizing pictorial content and prove that the system’s output is in line with classic market research results and provides additional insight.
