At the invitation of our institute, she gave an exclusive lecture on 27th March 2025 in the Historic Town Hall in Nuremberg. With around 90 experts and leading minds from academia and practice, she shared her insights on Redirecting growth and competitiveness in Europe: a mission-oriented approach to demand dynamics.
Professor Mazzucato emphasized that tackling today’s grand challenges requires deep structural change and a new approach to economic transformation. She outlined inspiring key strategies for driving mission-oriented innovation:
- Policy Design – Moving beyond market-fixing toward market co-creation & shaping
- Institutions & Tools – Implementing outcomes-oriented strategies
- New Social Contracts – Building symbiotic public-private partnerships driven by purpose
- Co-Creation & Participation – Engaging communities and stakeholders in the transformation process
Her powerful message:
To shape the future, we must rethink how we design policies, institutions, and collaborations.
We would like to thank Professor Mazzucato for sharing her insights and inspiring views and all participants for the fruitful discussions.
