Larry McEnerney
Now retired, Larry McEnerney was for 30 years the director the University of Chicago's writing program. Chicago's program specializes in the most advanced academic and professional writing, working extensively with faculty, postgraduate fellows, and graduate students. Beyond the campus, Larry has consulted worldwide for individual scholars and scientists, and for universities, research institutes, academic societies, journals, funding agencies, businesses, and other organizations.
In his session, Larry analyzed the actual functions of academic and expert writing and demonstrated techniques that achieve these functions. The session focused specially on techniques that meet the ultimate challenge that confronts most contemporary research: the problem of value.
